Fringed sedge does well in sun to part shade wet areas. It makes a nice understory to larger perennials and would do ok in a rain garden. It is the host to Eyed Brown Butterfly caterpillars and other species of moths and skippers. It’s seed heads also attract and are appetizing to birds!
