Echinacea purpurea (purple coneflower)
$7.99 – $16.99
Purple coneflower, Echinacea purpurea, is a recognizable and valuable pollinator plant with it’s pink dome shaped flower. It is not a New England ecotype, but I think that it’s benefits earn it a spot in a proper New England garden. Butterflies LOVE Echinacea, and it even hosts the larvae of the silvery checkerspot butterfly. I have found this plant to be a short lived perennial, so be prepared to replace it every few years. Must be protected from deer and rabbits.
