Northern bayberry, my old friend. Bayberry can tolerate conditions almost nothing else can. I am looking at you windy, salty, ferocious seaside planting. It does great inland too, as a hedge or single shrub. It’s blueberries in fall smell divine and inspire candle scents everywhere. Birds love the berries too!
