Larix laricina (american larch)


American larch is the only native deciduous conifer in on region and it puts on a show in the fall, when it’s needles turn yellow and orange before dropping. It is considered a keystone species, hosting up to 100 native caterpillar species. It thrives in full sun and moist soil and can reach up to 60′.
